Layout Designer

You will transform electronic schematics into their physical implementation on silicon and contribute to the creation of integrated circuits used in real products.
  • Transform electronic schematics into their physical implementation on silicon
  • Use CAD tools to place transistors, resistors, capacitors, and other components to ensure the circuit performs exactly as designed
  • Work with modern submicron technologies (full training will be provided)
  • Perform layout verification, ensure compliance with design rules, and collaborate closely with circuit designers
  • Support and contribute to physical design automation, including development, optimization, and maintenance of automated place-and-route (P&R) tools, flows, and methodologies
  • Develop and improve P&R flows (floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing) using tools such as Synopsys Fusion Compiler or Cadence Innovus
  • Drive design implementation at block and/or top level, with focus on PPA (Power, Performance, Area) optimization and timing closure
  • Create and maintain automation scripts (Tcl, Perl, Python) to streamline design processes and improve efficiency
  • A secondary school or university degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Understanding of basic electronics principles (resistors, capacitors, inductors, parallel/series circuits, voltage dividers)
  • Interest in electronics — ideally with hands-on experience (e.g. building or soldering projects)
  • Detail-oriented, patient, and with strong logical thinking
  • A team player
  • Experience in analog layout is preferred; exposure to physical design automation is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with P&R tools (Synopsys ICC2 / Fusion Compiler or Cadence Innovus) is an advantage
  • Basic scripting knowledge (Tcl, Python, or similar) is a plus
