Lead Backend Developer - Mortgage
You will design, develop, and optimize robust, scalable back-end systems, APIs, and databases that power web and mobile applications. You will collaborate with front-end engineers, product managers, and DevOps to ensure seamless integration and reliable delivery of features. You will architect secure, efficient server-side solutions, implement best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment (including code reviews and automated testing), leverage AI tools to improve productivity, and stay current with back-end, blockchain, and fintech trends.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance back-end systems, APIs, and databases that support web and mobile applications
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of features and services
- Architect scalable, secure, and efficient server-side solutions that meet fintech industry standards and handle high transaction volumes
- Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment, including code reviews and automated testing frameworks
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in back-end development, blockchain, and fintech and recommend improvements
- Embrace and champion the thoughtful adoption of AI to improve team performance and business outcomes
- Leverage AI tools such as generative AI and automation platforms to improve productivity and output quality
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of experience in back-end development, with at least 2 years in a senior role
- Mortgage or real-estate lending specific domain experience
- Hands-on development experience in Node, Express, TypeScript and related frameworks like NestJS to build REST APIs and other services
- Strong experience with SQL and some exposure to NoSQL
- Experience with Microservices and event-based architecture
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with caching and messaging queues such as Kafka
- Experience using Postman and Git / Bitbucket
