Lead Buyer – EMS Manufacturing (Sourcing & Development)
Role Overview:<\/b>
As the Lead Buyer \u2013 EMS Manufacturing (Sourcing & Development)<\/b>, you will lead sourcing and supplier development for key electronic systems such as PCBA, controllers, BMS, chargers, and electronic sub\-assemblies for our EV platforms.
You will own the end\-to\-end sourcing lifecycle \u2014 from identifying capable suppliers and driving cost efficiency to ensuring readiness for new product launches. This role requires a strong blend of technical understanding, commercial negotiation, and supplier partnership development \u2014 ideal for someone who thrives in a fast\-paced startup ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:<\/b>
1. Sourcing Strategy & Execution<\/b>
\u2022\tIdentify and develop EMS suppliers aligned with the company\u2019s EV technology roadmap and localization goals.
\u2022\tDrive sourcing decisions for PCBA, harnesses, power electronics, sensors, and control units.
\u2022\tFormulate supplier strategies balancing cost, technology, and scalability.
\u2022\tBuild a robust local supplier base to improve speed, flexibility, and cost competitiveness.
2. Supplier Development<\/b>
\u2022\tAssess supplier capability, capacity, and technical competence through audits and evaluations.
\u2022\tPartner with suppliers to strengthen process control, yield, and line automation.
\u2022\tLead supplier onboarding, APQP, and industrialization readiness.
3. Cost & Commercial Management<\/b>
\u2022\tLead commercial negotiations and establish cost targets for EMS assemblies and key components.
\u2022\tConduct detailed cost breakdowns and drive VA/VE and cost\-reduction initiatives.
\u2022\tDevelop long\-term cost roadmaps based on technology and volume evolution.
4. New Product Development Support<\/b>
\u2022\tWork closely with design, quality, and program management teams during proto, pilot, and mass production stages.
\u2022\tEnsure supplier readiness for NPIs, with timely PPAP and process validation.
\u2022\tCoordinate sourcing timelines with project milestones to ensure on\-time start of production.
5. Quality & Delivery Performance<\/b>
\u2022\tEnsure consistent supplier performance in quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
\u2022\tDrive root cause analysis and improvement actions for supplier issues.
\u2022\tMonitor and review supplier KPIs and performance dashboards.

Education:<\/b>
\u2022\tB.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:<\/b>
\u2022\t8\u201312 years in sourcing and supplier development, preferably in EMS / EV / automotive electronics<\/b>.
\u2022\tStrong understanding of PCBA manufacturing (SMT, wave soldering, testing, and reliability validation).
Core Competencies:<\/b>
\u2022\tSolid commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
\u2022\tExperience in developing local EMS vendors from ground\-up.
\u2022\tWorking knowledge of IATF / ISO quality systems and NPI processes.
