About the Job

Offensive Security is looking for a results-oriented Lead Cybersecurity Content Engineer to join our international team. The Lead Cybersecurity Content Engineer will be responsible for the technical direction and leadership for an area of training topics and learning paths, ensuring the training materials are both pedagogically sound and technically accurate. This includes both R&D work as well as building lab environments. In addition, the Lead Cybersecurity Content Engineer provides mentorship and guidance (including assisting with hiring and onboarding) for other Cybersecurity Content Engineers. Finally, the Lead Cybersecurity Content Engineer also contributes by writing course material and creating lab environments.

The successful candidate will also have familiarity with Offensive Security course materials or extensive experience in creating and delivering training. We are looking for someone who is creative, detail-oriented, and has the ability to work remotely with minimal supervision.

Duties and responsibilities

  • The Lead Cybersecurity Content Engineer reviews, coaches, and provides technical direction in a specific area. These are the primary duties for this role.

  • The Lead Cybersecurity Content Engineer should expect to contribute as an individual as well, including drafting topic outlines, and writing content, and building lab environments.

  • The Lead Cybersecurity Content Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of hands-on exercises that test students based on written content (exam creation).

  • The Lead Cybersecurity Content Engineer may be called upon to act as a spokesperson for the courses and materials in the area where they provide technical direction and leadership.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of relevant industry experience (Defense) working in areas such as threat hunting or malware analysis.

  • Significant technical expertise in the desired area.

  • Some training creation experience, prior online/asynchronous content development experience is ideal but not required. Some fundamental understanding of training/adult education principles needed.

  • Some experience with mentoring, coaching, and leadership.

  • Strong command of the English language, including writing skills, and the ability to express oneself with a high level of detail and precision and effectively communicate.

  • Experience collaborating across cultures, continents, and time-zones

  • Ability to contribute in a collaborative and professional team environment

Working conditions

This role is a full-time salaried position. Work hours for this position are flexible, and will be performed remotely from anywhere in the world.
