Lead Electrical Engineer
Join a business delivering landmark projects like the 15-year Eva Copper Mine PPA in Australia—combining solar, battery storage, and low-emissions thermal generation to create the country’s largest off-grid renewable hybrid power solution and set new standards in sustainable mining energy.
Bring your energy to Aggreko as Lead Electrical Engineer based in Brisbane. The Lead Electrical Engineer will act as Aggreko’s electrical technical lead and HV technical authority for a major hybrid independent power project. The role is responsible for ensuring consultant, vendor and contractor electrical engineering outputs are safe, compliant, coordinated, fit for purpose and aligned with project requirements across design, construction, pre-commissioning, energisation and commissioning.

- Review and challenge consultant design deliverables, studies, calculations, specifications, drawings, protection philosophies, ITPs and technical submissions to ensure they are complete, coordinated and fit for purpose.
- Lead technical assurance for solar PV, BESS, thermal/diesel generation and hybrid/off-grid system integration, including interfaces between generation, storage, controls, protection and balance-of-plant systems.
- Oversee power system study inputs and outputs, including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, harmonics, transient/stability, earthing and power quality studies.
- Manage technical interfaces with consultants, OEMs, EPC/subcontractors, network service providers, regulators, construction, commissioning and operations teams.
- Support procurement by reviewing vendor packages, technical deviations, datasheets, FAT/SAT requirements and vendor design documentation for major electrical equipment.
- Provide electrical input to Safety in Design, HAZID/HAZOP/CHAZOP, risk reviews, constructability reviews, commissioning readiness and operational handover.
- Support site activities on an ad-hoc basis, particularly during construction readiness, pre-commissioning, energisation, commissioning, defect resolution and handover.
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate external subject matter experts while maintaining clear technical governance, decision records and issue escalation.
