Lead Engineer - Agile STM/GEN Upgrades
Job Description Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated experienced Engineer to own the Steam Turbine and Generator Inquiry to Remittance (ITR) within Agile value stream of the HD Services business. This engineering position which leads many aspects of technical support across the spectrum of ITO and OTR to help commercialize and flawlessly execute customer solutionsThe candidate will work closely with cross functional Engineering teams, Customer facing teams, Material management teams, Sourcing, Commercial, etc. to achieve critical business and project targets.
The successful candidate will focus on executing professional activities within our technical discipline, bridging the gap between customer expectations and technical delivery. This role offers the autonomy to refine procedures and practices, ensuring our output consistently meets high standards of quality, volume, and timeliness.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Act as Point of Contact to all interfacing teams (commercial operations, sales, sourcing, material management, project management, design engineering) for ITR related matters for the Agile Upgrades team in Steam Turbine and Generator Technology space (including GEV and legacy Alstom units) for the assigned Opportunities and Projects.
- Oversee the technical analysis of client needs, scope definition, scheduling, and industrial schemes. Manage both OTR and ITO phases, including the customization of products for specific customer requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and/or review of work to individual ITR engineers in the team. Manage escalations from internal and external customers.
- Have a clear understanding of team workload and support organize assignments to balance this workload while continuing to develop the team’s technical expertise.
- Utilize deep knowledge of company best practices to ensure internal alignment. Propose innovative solutions to complex processes, utilizing analytical thinking to navigate interdependent production and procurement cycles.
- Lead in developing and the sustainable rollout of continuous improvement initiatives within the ST Agile team. Actively participate in Agile global and HDS ITR continuous improvement as required/assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Direct experience in Parts Engineering and Customer Application Engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with significant relevant experience in the applicable job family/function).
- Demonstrated capability in managing multiple projects throughout the ITR lifecycle.
- Strong technical background in Steam Turbine and Generator (ST/GEN) bill-of-materials for both GEV and Legacy Alstom units, outage support, and supply chain collaboration.
