Lead Environmental Technician
Faro, YT – Full-Time Permanent – 14 Days On / 14 Days Off
Paid staff accommodations; mileage and living-out allowance provided.
About the Role

As the Lead Environmental Technician, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating field programs for the Faro Mine Site as well as performing environmental data collection.

  • Lead the coordination of the field program including schedules, assignments and HSE planning.
  • Coordinate all general field logistics (including equipment, transportation, accommodation, etc.).
  • Coordinate and plan all personnel and/or equipment needs for field programs.
  • Develops and maintains up-to-date SJPs, SWPs, training tracking and provides training.
  • Oversee the maintenance of existing equipment and support decision-making for the purchase of new equipment.
  • Remote field sampling and environmental data collection for a variety of monitoring programs.
  • Environmental sampling and preparation of shipments to labs.
  • Manipulation of digital environmental data and analysis reports.
  • Supporting the preparation of reports as needed.
  • Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and professional development opportunities for direct reports.
  • All other related duties as required.
  • About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering with 2 years of field experience, or 5 years of experience leading various field programs, with at least 1 project leading environmental programs on a remote mine or construction project.
  • 2 - 5 years of previous work experience.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members as well as independently
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other business software
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders
