Lead Java Engineer
I'm looking for an experienced Lead Java Engineer to join a global technology company developing mission-critical SaaS products. You'll become part of an international team working on the modernization of a large-scale platform, driving technical decisions and leading backend engineering initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and delivery of core backend services and large-scale data migration initiatives;
- Drive architecture discussions and technical planning with client engineering teams;
- Design integration and synchronization solutions between legacy and modern systems;
- Define engineering standards and mentor other developers;
- Ensure high code quality through code reviews, testing, and best engineering practices;
- Troubleshoot production issues and lead root-cause analysis;
- Collaborate closely with distributed teams across the US, UK, and Brazil;
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.
Requirement:
- 7+ years of commercial Java development experience;
- Previous experience in a Technical Lead or Lead Engineer role;
- Strong experience building scalable backend systems and REST APIs;
- Experience with distributed systems, messaging, and cloud environments;
- Strong SQL and relational database knowledge;
- Experience with large-scale system integration or data migration projects;
- Ability to make technical decisions, mentor engineers, and lead architecture discussions;
- Excellent English communication skills;
- Experience working in Agile environments.
Nice to have:
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Claude, Cursor);
- Experience with SaaS or multi-tenant platforms;
- Experience leading enterprise-scale migration projects;
- Experience integrating with third-party systems.
