Position Brand Description:
The Lead Medium Voltage Electrician/Instrumentation is responsible for providing leadership and mentorship to skilled trades personnel, facilitating training initiatives, and offering backup support for the maintenance leader as required. This role requires proficiency in data mining, process monitoring, and utilizing data historian tools to identify root causes of equipment malfunctions or failures.
Key responsibilities include the safe servicing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of LTC Utility systems, which encompass high purity water, compressed air, steam, chilled water, glycol, city water, and sewer systems. The individual must consistently adhere to quality standards and demonstrate strong customer service skills to ensure proper upkeep of utility equipment and facilities. Additionally, the individual is expected to provide assistance across multiple skilled trades as needed.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
- Adhere to all HSE standards, support departmental plans, and participate in safety initiatives.
- Obtain certifications for LOTO, lifts, respirators, confined spaces, and fall protection.
- Document work accurately following Good Documentation Practices.
- Regularly maintain and update job plans and procedures.
- Utilize Performance Management systems to ensure personal objectives are aligned with organizational goals.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on utility equipment, including both high and low voltage electrical gear such as 13.2 KV main switchgear, circuit breakers, relays, and motor starters.
- Execute preventative maintenance procedures for complex electrical equipment, encompassing motor control centers, variable-speed drives, and load centers.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical equipment issues efficiently, implementing repairs to minimize operational downtime.
- Perform modifications and install new electrical components, including conduit, wiring, lighting, and branch circuits.
- Identify and resolve complex electrical faults to restore systems and equipment to full operational status.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, as well as calibration, of process instrumentation (including temperature, pressure, flow, pH, conductivity, TOC, and control valves).
- Troubleshoot and assess process instrumentation equipment, making timely repairs to reduce downtime.
- Implement modifications and install new process instrumentation as required.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge relevant to serviced equipment.
- Provide mentoring and training to newly appointed Utility craft personnel.
Basic Requirements:
- A minimum of three years’ experience working in Utilities is required.
- Experience working in high purity water, compressed air, steam, chilled water, glycol, city water, and sewer systems.
- A strong electrical aptitude is essential.
- Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to respond to call-ins and work scheduled overtime is necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds is required.
- Must be able to tolerate exposure to varying temperatures while performing duties outdoors in both winter and summer conditions.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Associate’s degree or Technical Certificate in an electrical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Applicable military service training will be considered as an acceptable alternative.
- Maintenance experience within an FDA-regulated manufacturing environment is required.
- Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English to effectively communicate technical and business information.
- Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.
- Ability to accurately follow written procedures during maintenance tasks.
- Strong documentation skills and effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Familiarity with the set-up and operation of Maintenance Shop hand tools and equipment.
- Capable of reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.
- Proven ability to work productively within a team-oriented, collaborative setting.
- Proficient in the use of CMMS (e.g., Maximo) or similar work order tracking systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

- High school diploma or equivalent
Other Information:
- This position is scheduled for 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday.
- Temporary shift changes may occur.
- Hazardous operations within Utilities include exposure to acid, steam, caustic substances, high pressure, and high temperatures.
- Personal protective equipment is required at all times.
- Work involves awkward positions, cramped quarters, ladders, and scaffolding.
- Employment requires working during summer and year-end company breaks.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$24.51 - $49.71Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
