Job Description:

The Lead Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of multi-state U.S. payroll and related payroll activities under general supervision. This position supports payroll compliance, reporting, equity compensation transactions, expatriate payroll administration, and employee payroll inquiries while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, company policies, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute accurate biweekly payroll for all U.S. employees using ADP and UKG Pro, ensuring timely pay distribution and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

  • Process and maintain payroll transactions including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, bonuses, commissions, deductions, garnishments, and leave-related payroll impacts.

  • Assist in detailed pre- and post-payroll audits and reconcile payroll registers, timesheets, benefit deductions, tax withholdings and correct discrepancies.

  • Collaborate with Human Resources, Benefits, Stock Administration, Finance, and Timekeeping teams to validate payroll data and ensure accurate employee records.

  • Administer payroll-related activities for expatriate employees, including coordination of tax equalization, hypothetical tax deductions, shadow payroll requirements, and vendor-provided payroll adjustments.

  • Assist in process and validate equity compensation transactions, including Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) events, ensuring proper taxation, withholding, reporting, and payroll integration.

  • Support payroll tax compliance activities and assist with payroll audits, year-end processing, and regulatory reporting requirements.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, resolving pay discrepancies, tax withholding questions, garnishments, and deductions in a timely and professional manner.

  • Maintain payroll procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), audit documentation, and process controls to ensure consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement.

  • Assist in payroll reports and provide payroll-related data and analysis to Finance, HR, and external auditors as requested.

  • Assist with payroll system testing, upgrades, implementations, and special projects.

Pay Range:

$21.90 - $28.77

Pay Range Explained:

This role in Beaverton, Oregon pays between $21.90 and $28.77 per hour, depending on your experience, skills, and background. Pay may vary in other locations. We offer a full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, a 401(k) with company match, employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), and paid time off. You’ll also be eligible for quarterly profit-sharing bonuses and flexible spending or savings accounts.
