YOUR ROLE:
Come join our growing Industry team as a Lead Process Engineer – Capital Projects. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing capital projects required to support the Protected Vehicles Industrial strategy and solutions for the relevant industrial activities from concept through to equipment handover. You will also implement projects following the Manage the Change (MOC) documentation ensuring that projects are launched to achieve relevant Australian standards, Thales policies, Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards ensuring that the plant equipment capability and throughput indicators are met. You will interface with the relevant Process Engineer and operations / maintenance team as their customer.
Working at our Bendigo site, on Dja Dja Wurrung Land, you will be working alongside other process engineering team members delivering improvements and facilitating process maturity and performance across the teams. Your exciting new career opportunity will see you:
Develop manufacturing, repair, service, testing and integration plans and procedures and assist with defining and maintaining applicable standards.
Prepare the manufacturing / repair / service data file documentation for handover to Operations/Maintenance as the customer.
Support the Operational teams in implementing first-level maintenance (TPM), alongside the maintenance teams for the project.
Take action as needed in real time to support the Operations/Maintenance team in response to an Andon call escalation where maintenance cannot resolve.
Together with maintenance, critically assess current plant equipment risk assessment rating, suitability, lifecycle, downtime, obsolescence, and whether it is fit for purpose and feed in to multi-year budget (MYB) and vehicle project planning
Develop test and control plans and procedures for production equipment and associated resources (programmes, benches, interfaces).
YOUR EXPERIENCE:
Engineering Degree and knowledge of capital projects implementation from concept to handover.
Experience in implementation of continuous improvement and management tools (Lean: flow management, conducting Gemba Walks, Compass Room, Plan Do Check Act (PDCA), TPM, etc).
Intermediate knowledge of production and repair processes, products and their manufacturing or repair processes.
Knowledge of industrial management control and stock management and flow management methodologies.
Knowledge of production tools, industrial IT & use of dashboards (analysis, decision support).
