Lead Production Quality Engineer - Assembly

The Lead Production Quality Engineer represents the customer (internal and external) and ensures compliance with customer and internal specifications. The role owns quality performance within the assigned scope, leading key quality activities and driving problem-solving initiatives. This position reports directly to the Quality Manager.
Your responsibilities will be to:
Own and drive product and process quality within the assigned production scope
Represent the customer on all quality matters, including communication, escalation, and complaint handling
Lead root cause analysis and ensure timely corrective actions to resolve and prevent issues (8D, 5Why, etc.)
Analyze quality data, identify trends/deviations, and implement improvement actions
Ensure compliance with Global Change Management and customer requirements
Approve new or changed parts for production, including PPAP and inspection results
Coordinate process and product audits and ensure audit readiness
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, waste, and cost of non-quality
Maintain and update quality documentation (Control Plan, PFMEA, Work Instructions, etc.)
Monitor key quality KPIs and implement poka-yoke and process improvements
Support daily production issue resolution and fast response activities
Act as manufacturing quality expert and provide guidance to technicians and inspectors
Organize and lead Quality resources within Assembly (Quality Engineers, Technicians, and Inspectors), including task allocation, delegation, and follow-up on execution
Our requirements:
VI or VII degree of professional qualification preferably, but not limited to, the field of Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering / Technology Faculty
Minimum 3–5+ years of experience in quality within manufacturing/automotive industry
Strong experience in problem-solving methodologies (8D, FTA, 5Why, Ishikawa, DOE)
Good knowledge of IATF 16949 and automotive quality standards
Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA and Control Plans
Strong analytical skills with the ability to make independent decisions
Proven ability to lead topics, coordinate stakeholders, and work cross-functionally
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Advanced MS Office skills
Proactive, structured, and highly responsible with strong ownership mindset
Team-oriented with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
