Lead Risk Analyst - People & Culture

We are seeking an experienced Lead Analyst to join us in a strategic Line 1 role, strengthening our risk culture and progressively enhancing risk management practices.

In this role, you will support People & Culture risk classes and be embedded within the People Department. The successful candidate will play a vital role in proactively managing material risks in an ever-evolving risk landscape.

This position involves influencing across the department, aligning initiatives enterprise-wide, communicating up to C-suite level, and contributing to the development of board papers.

As a Lead Analyst, you will:

  • Promote a strong risk culture by fostering awareness and encouraging leaders and team members to take proactive ownership of risks and mitigating controls.

  • Support the identification, assessment, and management of risks and controls to help departments achieve their business objectives effectively.

  • Assist in developing robust internal controls to mitigate material risk exposure and support control owners in ongoing testing of key controls.

  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of risk management practices, escalating gaps and concerns to senior management where appropriate.

  • Provide guidance on risk incidents, including assessment, root cause analysis, and remediation planning.

  • Support the accurate identification, logging, and management of risks, controls, issues, and incidents within the Risk Management System (RMS), ensuring adherence to quality standards.

  • Lead efforts to build departmental capability through the risk transformation program, including supporting privacy-related topics as required.

  • Contribute to a community of practice, sharing insights and best practices to enhance consistency and deepen understanding of risk management across the RBA.

  • Collaborate with Line 2, Compliance, and Internal Audit teams to deliver integrated assurance to the Governance Board and Audit & Risk Committee.

  • Support the preparation of reporting and analytics to increase awareness and transparency of material risk exposures. Coordinate and lead regular risk forums where insights are shared with the leadership team.

About You

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Line 1 or Line 2 operational risk and compliance role, ideally including People & Culture risk experience.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting the learning and development of stakeholders in practical risk management.

  • Proven ability to support organisations in strengthening risk culture and risk management practices.

  • Experience implementing risk and compliance frameworks, including coaching and training others.

  • Understanding of enterprise-wide risk and compliance management frameworks, policies, and standards.

  • Experience in enhancing operational resilience and implementing operational risk management standards in a regulated environment is desirable.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in economics, finance, risk, compliance, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage across multiple levels of the organisation.
