Lead Repair Development Engineer, Joining Technology

Salary: Up to $8,500/month + AWS + Variable Bonus

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and industrialization of advanced joining and repair technologies to support manufacturing and repair operations globally.
  • Design and implement innovative repair solutions to support new product introductions and component repair strategies.
  • Develop validation plans for repair materials and laser cladding technologies in collaboration with New Repair Introduction teams.
  • Drive successful technology transfer and qualification of repair service centers, ensuring compliance with repair standards and certifications.
  • Execute engineering projects involving process design, analysis, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical expertise in joining technologies, including welding, brazing, laser cladding, and related metallurgical processes.
  • Monitor project progress, communicate key developments, and ensure timely delivery of objectives.
  • Maintain high-quality technical documentation in accordance with engineering and business requirements.
  • Identify and implement productivity and process improvement opportunities across the global repair network.
  • Collaborate closely with component engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and global stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Welding, Materials, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 8 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years specializing in joining technologies.
  • Knowledge of industrial gas turbine components and repair technologies.
  • Exposure to thermal spray coatings, surface finishing, machining, sealing, and related repair processes.
  • Strong expertise in:
  • Laser cladding processes
  • Superalloy welding and brazing metallurgy
  • Numerically Controlled (NC/CNC) machinery
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing and repair processes within industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
