Lead, Warehouse
Position Summary
The Warehouse Lead will be responsible for overseeing the daily warehouse responsibilities of all areas assigned. The Warehouse Lead will direct employees in the following tasks: picking and staging customer orders, counting and cross checking all orders that are staged, replenishment of the warehouse picking locations, organizing of the warehouse, finished good prep, delivery of product to and from locations utilizing a 26ft box truck cycle counting and individual picking locations and other tasks deemed necessary by management. The Warehouse Lead will be responsible for keeping management aware of workload constraints, safety situations, employee and forklift issues. The Warehouse Lead must possess good communication skills and must be able to demonstrate strong leadership qualities. Must have proven work record indicating initiative, proficiency, integrity, dependability, and good attendance
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist Warehouse Supervisor with warehouse checks and cycle counts. Reporting any discrepancies immediately.
- Operate forklift or other equipment as required in the movement of material within the distribution center. Complete a daily vehicle inspection report prior to operating any equipment. Responsible for the proper charging of the vehicles after use. May perform routine preventative maintenance as required.
- Manage the daily workflow as designated by the supervisor. Ability to recognize issues during sorting and escalating with the proper parties to avoid negative impacts.
- Assist Receiving Clerk with receiving inbounds into Oracle. Also, problem solve receipt issues to find the proper resolution.
- Ensure employees complete training as it comes due.
- Train all new team members and report progress to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Maintain professional communications with Customers, Customer Service and Management while processing and reviewing Returns.
- Enter in productivity data daily.
- Assist with replenishments to maintain picking productivity.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and neatness is expected.
- Work independently and proactively. Clearly communicate with management and department personnel on key issues.
- Adhere to all good manufacturing practices.
- Perform general housekeeping duties.
- Flexibility to travel to other network facilities to assist with day-to-day operations in emergency situations.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Must have good verbal and written skills
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Current forklift experience is preferred; sit-down and stand-up forklift preferred
- Electric pallet jack experience is preferred
- Must have strong Oracle knowledge
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to safely drive a 26ft box truck
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years warehousing experience
- Oracle experience preferred
