Job Overview

This position serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for educational curriculum development and facilitation across the health system. The role designs and delivers multimodal learning experiences that spans leadership and professional development, new hire orientation and manager orientation offerings, regulatory and compliance training, LMS support and broader leadership development programs and modules. Drawing on organizational effectiveness best practices and a strong understanding of adult education strategies, the role supports the Talent Management CoE Learning & Development Strategic plan through designing, developing and deploying meaningful education experiences. This position collaborates with all levels of leadership (executive, VP, Director/Manager), clinical leaders, faculty, and content experts to design, develop, and deliver educational and training content. Partnering with HR Business Partners, and HR Centers of Excellence (TA, Talent Management & Total Rewards), this position will assess the current state of the learning function and shape its future direction.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Training, Educational Technology, or a related field.

2. Eight (8) years of experience in learning and development or instructor-led training, including Four (4) years of designing and facilitating learning programs

Preferred Qualifications

1. Master's degree in Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Training, Educational Technology, or a related field.

2. Experience facilitating leadership development for all levels (executive to front line).

3. Experience in 15,000+ size organization with multiple entity and verticals.

4. Ten (10) years of experience in learning and development or instructor-led training, including Four (4) years of designing and facilitating learning programs.

5. Workday Learning and Articulate experience strongly preferred.

1. Partners in the annual needs analysis with appropriate stakeholders and designs solutions suited to support Tufts Medicine Workforce Strategy.

2. Strengthens organizational effectiveness by building the capability needed to deliver on strategy through close partnership with the Talent & Performance Management team.

3. Grounds teaching strategies and instructional design in established adult learning theory and emerging learning science.

4. Provides learning solutions and collaboration for system performance management processes, including goal setting, performance calibration, talent review, succession planning, and development planning.

5. Works with business, clinical, HR and talent acquisition partners to keep the learning function aligned with organizational needs.

6. Plans, develops, and implements educational programs to meet the needs of the organization and the standards of regulatory agencies.

7. Designs and develops learning content using Articulate and other eLearning authoring tools, and maintains strong knowledge of Workday Learning.

8. Applies AI and emerging technology to advance how learning is designed and delivered.

9. Facilitates learning sessions across the system, including new hire orientation, manager orientation, and leadership development.

10. Engages faculty, vendors, and outside content experts in building new learning.

11. Maintains strong skills with current digital development tools, including platform certifications.

Physical Requirements:

1. Professional office environment with typical office requirements such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.

2. Largely a sedentary role, which involves sitting most of the time, but may involve movements such as walking, standing, reaching, ascending / descending stairs and operating office equipment.

3. Frequently required to speak, hear, communicate and exchange information.

4. Able to see and read computer displays, read fine print, and/or normal type size print and distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.

5. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Skills & Abilities:

1. Exceptional facilitation and classroom management skills, with a history of success driving measurable results by delivering modern, innovative, and interactive learning solutions in both virtual and in-person settings.

2. Curriculum development experience in creating integrated, multi-modal learning experiences that connect elearning and facilitated sessions to provide layered learning experiences.

3. Skilled at navigating ambiguity in an autonomous setting while representing Tufts Medicine, cultivating relationships, and creating meaningful learner experiences.

4. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, deliverables, and competing priorities with a proven record of success with limited managerial oversight.

5. Broad expertise in learning design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM) and adult-learning best practices, specifically applied to microlearning and autonomous AI coaching, and familiarity with common learning tools (i.e. Zoom, Articulate, LMS (Workday Learning), engagement tools, NotebookLM, etc.).

6. Passionate about the learner experience and how to make it better (always looking for ways to improve skills and learn new things), with a bias to action.

7. Demonstrated ability to assess learning needs through Kirkpatrick Model.

8. Communication and interpersonal abilities sufficient to interact with individuals and groups from a variety of social, emotional, cultural, and intellectual backgrounds.

Job Profile Summary

This role focuses on supporting the design, development, and implementation of human resource programs and policies, including recruitment, training and development, compensation and benefits, mobility, talent acquisition, diversity, talent management & organization development and employee/labor relations. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Talent Management duties: Develops and implements talent and performance management processes. Builds innovative processes and solutions to enable the achievement of talent strategy through a focus on building robust internal and external talent pipelines, high performance culture, manager capability and a culture committed to development and growth. Identifies and implements talent and performance metrics and analytics. A professional individual contributor role that may direct the work of other lower level professionals or manage processes and programs. The majority of time is spent overseeing the design, implementation or delivery of processes, programs and policies using specialized knowledge and skills typically acquired through advanced education. A specialist level role that is a recognized subject matter expert in job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Typically manages large projects or processes with limited oversight from manager, coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level professionals, resolving difficult and often complex problems.

Pay Range:

$101,084.26 - $128,878.21
