Legal Counsel[ 5-10 year experience]
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the drafting, review, negotiation, and administration of commercial and project-related agreements.
- Advise management on legal risks, contractual obligations, and commercial implications relating to ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Structure and advise on project entities such as joint ventures and SPVs in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage cross-border legal and compliance matters, including trade regulations and jurisdiction-specific obligations.
- Ensure contracts are legally enforceable and aligned with the company’s operational and commercial interests.
- Identify potential legal and contractual exposures and recommend practical risk mitigation strategies.
- Support the application and renewal of licenses, permits, and regulatory approvals necessary for business operations and project execution.
- Handle contract-related disputes, claims, negotiations, arbitration matters, and litigation processes where required.
- Work closely with internal departments including project management, procurement, finance, and operations to facilitate effective contract administration.
- Provide guidance and legal interpretation to internal stakeholders on contractual and compliance-related matters.
- Conduct legal and compliance briefings to improve awareness of contractual obligations and regulatory responsibilities.
- Maintain proper documentation and records of contracts, legal correspondence, and supporting materials.
- Liaise with external legal advisers, authorities, and regulatory bodies on legal matters affecting the organization.
- Contribute to the enhancement of internal governance, legal processes, and compliance procedures.
- Perform additional legal or corporate assignments as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant legal experience gained from private practice and/or corporate in-house environments.
