The Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant will be responsible for performing physical therapy treatments on patients. Administers physical therapy care programs for patients who are suffering from physical injury or disease. Monitors and communicates patient's progress and modifies treatment plans as directed by the managing physical therapist. Ensures and provides development, quality improvement, problem-solving, and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary manner.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Assists patients with active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, gives therapeutic massage, and modality treatments such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, ultraviolet, infrared, and hot and cold packs.
2. Instructs, motivates, and assists patients to learn and improve functional activities such as perambulation, transfer, ambulation, and daily-living activities.
3. Observes patients during treatments, monitors and compiles patients' progress and responses to treatments and communicates the results to the Physical Therapist.
4. Fits patients for, adjusts, and trains patients in use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
5. Confers with members of physical therapy staff and other health team members to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs.
6. Facilitates orientation to new Physical Therapist Assistants and directs and gives instructions to Physical Therapy Aides.
7. Performs clerical duties, such as taking inventory, ordering supplies, answering telephone, taking messages, and filling out forms.
8. May measure patient's range-of-joint motion, length and girth of body parts, and vital signs to determine effects of specific treatments or to assist Physical Therapist to compile data for patient evaluations.
9. May monitor treatments administered by Physical Therapy Aides.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required:
1. Associates degree.
2. BLS Certification.
3. Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license from NJ.
4. Minimum One (1) year of experience as a PTA is strongly preferred.
