Position Overview:
A load planner is responsible for coordinating and scheduling the transportation of goods or materials. They work closely with trucking agents, warehouse managers, and logistics personnel to ensure that shipments are loaded safely, efficiently, and on time.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Planning and scheduling the daily transportation of goods or materials
- Coordinating with truck agents and warehouse personnel to ensure timely loading and delivery of shipments
- Communicating with customers to confirm shipment details and ensure customer satisfaction
- Tracking and monitoring shipments to ensure timely delivery and to identify any potential issues or
- Providing guidance and support to team members, including office clerks and dock workers
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and standards
- Familiarity with US geography and commercial driving regulations
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Work environment/physical demands summary:
This job operates in an office environment or remote and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office with an open seating floor plan. The employee may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
