Loan Servicing Specialist

The Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for providing prompt and accurate responses to both internal and external customer’s mortgage servicing questions and concerns received by telephone and email. This position communicates regularly with Plaza’s sub-servicer to resolve loan-level issues as well as provide approval/guidance on Loss Mitigation and Foreclosure activity.
Job Duties:
- Answer incoming calls to Loan Servicing and Customer Service queues
- Acknowledge and/or respond to incoming emails within 24 business hours
- Properly document loan specific activity in servicing system.
- Follow up and research to resolve loan level issues.
- Process incoming mail.
- Prepare and mail renovation checks
- Adhere to operational controls, including legal, corporate and regulatory procedures to ensure the safety and security of customer mortgage assets.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Customer service experience with telephone exposure is essential
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to efficiently and consistently produce accurate work
- Capability to manage time, multi-task, and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment with a heavy volume of transactions, as well as ability to meet and handle deadlines
- Solid commitment to customer and associate service
- Exceptional phone etiquette
- Outstanding problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in both a team and individual environment
- Proficiency with computer systems including MS Office, Internet Browsers, and email functions
- Experience in loan servicing preferred
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Work Environment: This is a hybrid position based in our San Diego office, with an expectation of 2 days onsite per week (Tuesday and Thursday). Additional office time may be required based on team or business needs.

Estimated Rate of Pay:
$25.00 - $34.00
This position is full-time; non-exempt.
The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
