Job Title: Business Analyst

Location: McLean, VA (Locals Only)
Duration: 12 months+

  • Lead and/or participate in the business requirements gathering effort by working with business SMEs and IT to elicit, document, and review detailed business process flows and requirements per Freddie Mac standards.
  • Lead and/or participate in UAT activities, including developing UAT strategy and plan, test scenarios/test cases, and expected results. Coordinate UAT execution activities with IT and business SMEs. Document test defects and provide daily UAT status updates and Test Summary Report. Work with IT to resolve issues and defects.
  • Support data analysis activities like data mapping and profiling.
  • Support creation of Reports using Microsoft Reporting tool stack.

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in analyzing business functions and accurately documenting critical data requirements that represent the business needs including future state business activities. Ability to focus on the ‘what’ of the business function and not the ‘how’ of the solution. Experience in supporting the building of mission-critical business applications.
  • 5+ years of experience in the creation and documentation of UAT test strategies/plans and test cases/scripts for data projects. Thorough knowledge of both manual and automated testing.
  • Requires strong data analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and disseminate significant amounts of information about said data with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must have strong SQL skills to develop and execute complex scripts that interrogate the data ensuring requirements / business rules / controls are thoroughly tested.
  • Solid understanding of data warehouse / database concepts.
  • Experience in creating reports using BI tools (Microsoft preferred).
  • Strong facilitation and communication (verbal and written) skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Formal BA training, Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence training or certification will be preferred.
  • Understanding of the mortgage industry, preferably commercial or multifamily real estate (origination, underwriting, securitization, servicing and asset management) helpful.
  • Skilled with relational DBMS (MS SQL Server, Sybase, DB2), DOORS, and SharePoint.
