Logistic Analyst (1 year contract)
The Logistics Specialist will support our imports and provide overall support by identifying and implementing procedures to better optimize the overall efficiency of supply chain and logistics activities. Perform tasks that relate to the strategic and tactical management of carrier performance to include request for quotes, on-time delivery, on-time pick-up, Provide support to internal customers including but not limited to Operations, Sales, Procurement, and end customers. Communicate Key Performance Indicators to measure overall logistics performance and process compliance.
Responsibilities: -
- Engage in programs to including but not limited to on-boarding carriers, monitoring compliance, providing tracking, and expediting assistance, training, and carrier engagement as it relates to all modes of transportation. Support Inbound and Outbound Routing Guides covering both domestic and international shipping activity and provide training on shipping processes as it relates to the Transportation Management System, freight quoting and pricing.
- Work cross-functionally with purchasing team/ project team according company routing guide, provide training, monitoring compliance, tracking, expedite assistance for all modes of transportation.
- Closely communicate with plant operations, Buyers, Suppliers, and Carriers to provide instruction, manage expedite requests, and problem solving.
- Drive operational excellence, identify and execute process improvement projects to reduce costs, improvement quality, service and increasing speed.
- May assist with customer order quotations for freights estimates
- Provide back-up support in the Logistics Department as needed
Requirements: -
- Contract/ Temporary position.
- Diploma in Art, in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or other appropriate discipline
- 2-3 years of experience
- Experience in logistics, supply chain management or related discipline
- Experience in a strategic setting in a large manufacturing organization
- Ability to travel, as requested
Preferred Qualifications: -
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in MS Office
- Experience and knowledge in international trade and transportation preferred
- Ability to use a personal computer and job-related software
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to coordinate efforts from multiple groups in the company to achieve objectives.
- Ability to identify process deficiencies, develop and implement improvements
- Ability to efficiently work in a team setting or cross-functionally
Education And Certifications: -
- Diploma in Art, in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or other appropriate discipline.
Travel Time Required: -
- Up to 10%
