The Data Centre Logistics team is responsible for receiving, tracking, and managing Data Centre assets and shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting safe, efficient logistics operations onsite.This role shall be responsible for supporting business continuity by maintaining near-perfect asset accuracy, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and delivering reliable logistics and asset management support across multiple Data Centre locations. The team maintains inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and documentation using asset management tools and barcode scanners, while collaborating with technicians and operations staff on logistics planning.
Job Description
Asset Handling & Logistics
Receive, process, and unpack goods; sign for deliveries; prepare and distribute computer kits.
Maintain accurate records of all inbound and outbound shipments, including inventory updates, box counts, and RMA tracking.
Manage on-site assets, ensuring that all movements are logged and reconciled with system records.
Inventory & Documentation
Maintain up-to-date and accurate inventory documentation using asset management tools, barcode scanners, and PDAs.
Ensure complete, timely, and accurate documentation of all shipping accounts, inventory logs, delivery records, and related transactions.
Conduct regular cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with company standards.
Customer Service & Operations
Deliver exceptional service by demonstrating attention to detail, timeliness, and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and operations staff to ensure smooth logistics workflows and project delivery.
Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide updates on inventory status, logistics planning, and asset availability.
Health & Safety, Equipment use
Operate heavy-load movement equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, chassis lifts) where qualified and necessary.
Adhere to all safety and compliance standards during equipment operation and material handling.
Requirements:
3 years of experience preferably in Data Centre or Critical infrastructure industry
Working knowledge of asset management/inventory systems, preferably in mission critical/Data Centre environments
Ability to effectively communicate progress, escalate issues promptly.
Ability to track shipments and documentation of asset movements in an accurate, auditable manner.
Understanding of HSE responsibilities within an asset management role, or capability to build this understanding.
