M&A Associate (Business Development)
MEDIATECH
Mediatech is one of the fastest-growing digital publishing houses, reaching over 25 million people every month across Cybernews, Wellness Pulse, InvestorsObserver, and our wider network.
We deliver trusted, independently researched insights across tech, cybersecurity, health, and finance. Our investigations have exposed major security issues at NASA, WhatsApp, ChatGPT, PayPal, LinkedIn, and the Red Cross, and uncovered the largest-ever password leak (RockYou2024).
We’re a team driven by curiosity, impact, and fast growth - and we’re looking for people who want to build with us.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT TEAM
Our Business Development team helps drive the company’s growth by identifying, evaluating, and advancing high-potential opportunities across the market. We work at the intersection of strategy, finance, and business development — turning opportunities into real business impact and helping strengthen our portfolio over the long term.
This role is a great opportunity for someone who wants to be close to decision-making, work directly with senior leadership, and take real ownership of high-impact opportunities. You’ll play a key role in building and moving the pipeline forward, while working closely with finance, legal, and C-level stakeholders along the way.
YOU
You are commercially sharp, analytical, and confident in taking ownership of complex processes. You enjoy assessing businesses, building cases, and moving opportunities forward from first conversation to decision point.
You are comfortable working independently, thinking critically with incomplete information, and communicating credibly with founders, management teams, and internal stakeholders. You combine strong financial judgment with a practical, business-oriented mindset, and you know how to keep momentum in high-stakes situations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Own the M&A pipeline from first contact with a target through to signed term sheet
Identify, research, and prioritize acquisition targets that fit our portfolio and growth strategy
Lead outreach and first conversations with potential sellers, founders, and management teams
Assess strategic fit, business quality, and acquisition potential across a range of opportunities
Build financial models and run valuation analyses, including DCF, comparables, and return scenarios
Prepare diligence materials, coordinate data rooms, and support due diligence processes across stakeholders
Write clear investment memos and decision-making materials for leadership
Build business cases for high-impact opportunities, often working with incomplete or imperfect information
Work closely with C-level stakeholders, finance, and legal teams to keep processes moving efficiently and support decision-making
WHAT WE EXPECT
2+ years of experience in M&A advisory, transaction services, corporate development, finance, or a similar field
Ability to independently own processes and move work forward without requiring close day-to-day guidance
Strong financial modelling skills, including the ability to build DCF and payback models from scratch
Good understanding of core deal mechanics such as enterprise value vs equity value, cash-free/debt-free structures, working capital adjustments, and earnouts
Strong analytical skills and ability to assess both business quality and strategic fit
Confidence communicating with senior stakeholders, founders, and management teams in a professional and credible way
Ability to structure information clearly and turn analysis into concise recommendations
Comfort working on high-stakes topics with speed, ownership, and incomplete information
Background in digital media, affiliate marketing, or performance marketing would be a plus
