Job Summary

As Mergers & Acquisitions Senior Associate, you will play a leading role in prospecting, analyzing, diligencing, and executing on acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and other acquisition-related activity for Modaxo - Americas and ANZ.

Core Responsibilities

  • Partner with other members of Modaxo’s M&A practice to identify, evaluate, and execute transactions, strategic investments, joint ventures, and other transactions across all lines of business, including:
    • Conduct all transaction-related financial modeling and valuation analysis.
    • Coordinate internal teams to perform all confirmatory due diligence work.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for the target company throughout the transaction close process.
    • Work closely with third-party advisors and internal stakeholders across various business groups by being the “quarterback” on transactions.
  • Evaluate all new transaction opportunities, prepare investment briefing memos, and present quality acquisition candidates to Modaxo’s investment committee to facilitate decision making processes.
  • Proactively engage business owners to gauge interest in a prospective transaction.
  • Actively manage pipeline of acquisition targets to ensure consistent deal flow and align on priorities.

You are a detail oriented, measured and business savvy professional who can interact with C level individuals and build solid relationships.

Education

  • Undergraduate degree – finance, accounting, business related preferred.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of different business models and core financial concepts.

Skills

  • Multi-tasking and project management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral).

Abilities

  • Ability to organize, facilitate, and manage a pipeline of different projects simultaneously.
  • Self motivated, ability to work with minimal direction.
  • Mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to influence and lead individuals towards business goals.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Capable of end-to-end execution and management of complex, multi-faceted deals.

Other

  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of working experience, including 2+ years of transferrable experience (e.g., investment banking, corporate development, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, or transaction advisory services).
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills; ability to structure analysis with limited guidance, interpret information to complete analysis and synthesize key takeaways.
  • Software development and/or public transportation related industry experience preferred.
