Position Summary
The AI Platform team builds the compute infrastructure that enables AI workloads at scale — spanning job scheduling, resource management, and the control plane that ML engineers at Adobe depend on daily. We sit at the intersection of distributed systems and machine learning infrastructure, building the foundational services that power model training and inference across Adobe Firefly.
We are seeking a ML platform engineer to join our ambitious team in Noida/Bangalore. This role is ideal for a strong engineer who is passionate about building reliable platform systems, enjoys working closely with ASML engineers as end users, and is ready to take meaningful ownership of scheduling and compute orchestration components.
What You'll Do
- Implement and maintain job scheduling, resource quota enforcement, and compute lifecycle management services
- Build reliable worker services and contribute to the control plane that manages GPU/CPU workload execution
- Develop and maintain the data layer tracking job state, cluster state, and resource ownership
- Work directly with ASML engineers to understand their workflows and help translate requirements into platform features
- Contribute to Python SDKs and CLIs that ASML engineers use to submit and monitor compute jobs
- Own features end-to-end — from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and monitoring
- Investigate and resolve production issues in compute orchestration and scheduling systems
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and actively participate in code reviews
- Collaborate with senior engineers on system design and architectural decisions
What We're Looking For
- B.Tech / M.Tech degree in Computer Science from a premier institute
- 5–7 years of experience in backend software development or platform engineering
- Strong computer science fundamentals — data structures, distributed systems, concurrency
- Proficiency in Python and/or Java, with familiarity with async programming patterns
- Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and designing data models
- Understanding of Cloud Platforms, with preference for AWS; exposure to Azure or GCP is a plus
- Familiarity with job scheduling or workflow orchestration concepts (Argo, Airflow, Ray, or similar)
- Ability to take ownership of well-defined problem spaces and drive them to completion
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills; comfort working in complex distributed systems
- Good communication skills — ability to collaborate with ASML engineers and cross-functional teams
Good to Have
- Exposure to ML training workflows or GPU workload management
- Familiarity with Kubernetes at the workload layer
- Experience with gRPC/protobuf or event-driven architectures
- Prior work on developer-facing internal tooling or platform SDKs
- Interest in or understanding of the ML lifecycle — training pipelines, experiment tracking, model versioning
