Department Overview

We develop solutions to optimize and automate operational and tactical decisions in Rohlik. We design and implement mathematical optimization models, simulation frameworks, and decision support systems to solve complex business problems. This position will directly support our workforce planning, shift scheduling, and supply chain efficiency initiatives.

Role Overview

This role's mission is to engineer the future of our company by building an autonomous and intelligent backbone for our core business processes. We are seeking a systems builder who is passionate about deploying production-grade ML to solve complex, real-world problems. You will build, deploy, and maintain features on our critical ML services. Working within our established architecture, you will solve complex technical challenges and ensure the reliability of our ML-powered products. Your key stakeholders will be business and product leaders from various departments.

What we expect from you / the position to perform

Main Deliverables

  • Owns:

    • Owns the development and maintenance of specific features and components within our ML services..

    • Contributes to the development and fine-tuning of our predictive engines., including models for forecasting, planning, and process optimization.

    • The full MLOps lifecycle for business-critical ML services, including building robust CI/CD pipelines and implementing comprehensive observability and monitoring.

  • Partners with:

    • Business and product leaders to identify high-impact use cases for machine learning and AI.

  • Provides input to:

    • Actionable business improvements by translating complex algorithms and data insights into pragmatic solutions.

  • Supports:

    • The automation of decisions and minimization of manual intervention in core business processes through the use of AI and machine learning.

    • The continuous enhancement of our business capabilities by proactively exploring and experimenting with new ML/AI trends.

What we look for / what we require

Required

  • Foundational Experience: A strong background with proven proficiency in Python and SQL.

  • Core ML Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience building and deploying time-series forecasting models for real-world applications and deep expertise in applying general ML methods to business challenges.

  • Strategic & Collaborative Skills: A pragmatic, product-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering practical solutions that drive business value. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • 3-5 years of experience in software or machine learning engineering

Preferred

  • Experience building and deploying applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • Experience combining traditional ML methods with LLMs is highly desirable.

  • A degree in a relevant field like Mathematical Statistics or Computer Science is a plus.

  • Experience deploying, monitoring, and maintaining ML systems in a production environment.

  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD principles for machine learning.

  • Knowledge of MLOps principles and tools for versioning, observability, and evaluation.
