Machine Technician Role
Key Responsibilities
Perform equipment repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in production machinery.
Conduct preventive maintenance: Schedule and carry out routine servicing to minimize downtime.
Install and calibrate machines: Ensure new equipment is set up correctly and aligned with production standards.
Troubleshoot breakdowns: Respond promptly to urgent faults to restore operations.
Maintain records: Document repair logs, maintenance schedules, and spare parts usage.
Ensure safety compliance: Follow workplace safety protocols and report hazards.
Skills & Requirements
Technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Ability to read technical drawings and equipment manuals.
Hands-on experience with CNC machines, conveyors, and automated systems.
Problem-solving skills for diagnosing complex faults.
Physical stamina for handling tools, lifting parts, and working in factory environments.
Team collaboration with engineers, supervisors, and production staff.
Work Environment
Typically based in manufacturing plants (electronics, automotive, precision engineering, steel processing).
Requires shift work or on-call availability for urgent repairs.
Exposure to noise, heat, and machinery hazards, requiring PPE (helmets, gloves, safety shoes).
