MACHINIST

Responsibilities

· Able to operate lathe machine/ drilling machine & milling machine

· Perform machining works as per drawings and specs

· Identify and provide machining process improvement

· Performs minor programming or program editing at machine controls if needed

· Independently selects the correct tooling to do the job.

· Gathers required tooling and fixture or places order if necessary

· Sets-up machine as required using prescribed manufacturing instruction sheet and program

· Calculates speeds, feeds and depths of cuts for machining

· Uses material handling equipment to move parts and components to and from work area

· Ensure all production records/reports are updated

· Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment

· Update/highlight to Production Supervisor on job status and any non-conformance raised

· To adhere and comply with the ISO requirements and Safety Regulations

· Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment

· All other ad-hoc tasks assigned

Requirements

· Able to read engineering drawings

· NITEC in Precision Engineering / Diploma in mechanical engineering with min 5 years working experience in precision machining environment

· Proficient with application of measuring instruments

· Able to commit to do OT when required
