Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Sr. Facilities Operations Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic will join our dynamic Facilities Operations team. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this role supports the upkeep, reliability, and performance of building systems, production equipment, and specialized aerospace support infrastructure. The Maintenance Technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and critical facility equipment used in cleanroom and production environments.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
  • Service and troubleshoot specialty equipment, including air compressors, vacuum systems, and environmental test units.
  • Follow cleanroom, lab, and production protocols while conducting maintenance activities.
  • Create, prioritize, and close work orders; maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors, verify completion of work, and ensure adherence to safety and facility standards.
  • Support production floor operations by minimizing downtime and maintaining safe operating conditions.
  • Conduct routine facility and equipment inspections, identify hazards, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Participate in facility audits, maintenance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma/GED required; technical training or certifications in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or facilities maintenance preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience with building systems, mechanical equipment, and basic electrical and plumbing repairs.
  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals; proficient with standard and specialty hand/power tools.
  • Strong understanding of safety practices including LOTO, PPE, and OSHA/EPA guidelines.
  • Effective communication skills, including documenting work orders and interacting with vendors and internal teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities across multiple trades.
  • Experience using CMMS or related maintenance/work order software.
  • Physical ability to lift ≥ 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or cleanroom environments as needed.
  • Possess and maintain a citation-free driving record, demonstrating responsible and safe driving practices; this will be verified through a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) review and is required to be upheld throughout employment.
  • Security clearance eligibility and additional certifications (EPA Universal, OSHA 10, etc.) are a plus.

Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
