Position Overview

The Maintenance/Porter is responsible for helping maintain a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for clients, staff, and visitors. This role supports the day-to-day upkeep of assigned facilities through custodial, cleaning, and basic maintenance tasks. The position helps ensure that indoor and outdoor spaces remain functional, well-maintained, and ready for use. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining facility standards are important aspects of this role.

This position is located in Staten Island, New York.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of offices, bathrooms, kitchens, hallways, and common areas.
  • Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing, buffing, and pressure washing.
  • Remove trash and recycling, ensuring proper disposal according to regulations.
  • Conduct minor maintenance tasks, including painting, changing light bulbs, and basic repairs.
  • Operate custodial equipment safely and handle cleaning chemicals in compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain building grounds through snow removal, sidewalk cleaning, mowing, raking, and other outdoor upkeep.

Requirements

  • Three (3) or more years of commercial cleaning or facility maintenance experience required
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to understand and follow written work orders and instructions
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate agency vehicles
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks

Pay Range

USD $17.00 - USD $17.00 /Hr.
