Position Summary:

Maintain systems and equipment by overseeing/completing preventive maintenance, restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or directing the work effort for replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts. Be proactive in matters that require attention and report the issues to management to reduce unscheduled down time. Assist in the coaching and development of maintenance team members. The Maintenance Supervisor is a “hands-on”, working position. The Maintenance Supervisor is a member of the maintenance team reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager/Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Maintenance Manager with daily oversight of maintenance crew work efforts.
  • Perform regular reviews of the AVO CMMS to assist in determining priorities with the scheduler/planner.
  • Enforce the culture of “completing repairs correctly, the first time”.
  • Ensure priorities are communicated to the maintenance crew.
  • Regularly inspect machinery with respect to safety issues.
  • Ensure work assigned to the maintenance crew is completed in a timely manner.
  • Identify team members that need additional skills training.
  • Assist with the coaching and developing members of the maintenance team.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety and security standards, procedures and policies.
  • Ensure maintenance personnel wear and utilize all safety equipment/P.P.E. correctly as needed.
  • Communicate with management, at any hour, during emergency situations.
  • Participate in all audits as needed, ensuring all areas are audit-ready at all times.
  • Ensure maintenance is performed in accordance with approved procedures and company policy
  • Follow and verify lock out/tag out rules and policies are strictly adhered.
  • Assist with maintaining adequate inventories of tools, supplies and parts to acutely repair all equipment.
  • Review daily Maintenance Agenda during the morning maintenance meeting.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the shop and storage areas.
  • Other duties as directed or required.
