Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor leads and directs the maintenance department team members by coordinating the safety, maintenance, and equipment needs of the production departments, physical plant, utilities and grounds in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an effective workforce, including an adequate number of well-trained personnel to meet the load requirements.
- Develops, schedules, and controls a work order system for an effective preventive maintenance program to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working condition. Records and reports maintenance failures by equipment and implements action plans for continuous improvement.
- Plans a continual work schedule to maintain all company property in a safe state to achieve the best safe working conditions possible for all employees.
- Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the maintenance, electrical, and mechanical operations
- Inspects jobs in process and at completion to ensure that standards of workmanship and safety are maintained.
- Ensures proper maintenance of facility machinery and building.
- Maintains inventories of maintenance material, supplies, and repair parts at required levels by initiating requisitions for purchase; periodically reviews inventory for proper upkeep at plant facilities.
- Prepares, submits and tracks Capital Expenditure Requests and purchasing requests for project-related inputs expenditures.
- Manages, coordinates and researches vendors and contractors. Interfaces with outside resources on installations, repairs and innovations.
- Manages budget requirements.
- Recommends, plans, and implements equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction.
- Updates LOTO procedures, writes hot work permits, ensures compliance
- Ensures Environmental compliance with all laws, permitting, reporting, waste management, recycling programs such as used oil reclamation, monthly monitoring requirements for air permit, MSDS maintenance and updating, energy conservation programs, participates in weekly conference calls on environmental and safety issues.
- Ensures safety rules and procedures are followed at all times
- Ensures safety activities are executed according to plan
- Performs repairs as necessary

Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong mechanical background, including electrical, electronic and mechanic.
- Strong mathematical, computer and reading skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Folding Carton experience is a plus, but not required.
- Experience in managing projects and maintenance teams as they deliver continuous improvement.
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in industrial plant maintenance.
- Proficient in blue print reading and trouble shooting of electrical/electronic and hydraulic operations of equipment.
- Technical experience with high voltage systems, motor control, process automation, instrumentation on and programmable logic controls (PLC's).
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
