Maintenance Supervisor

  • Manages staff during scheduled shift as well as completing daily maintenance tasks. Uses current technology (radio/phone) to monitor and communicate with staff. Provides help and support to the Maintenance Management Dept. Serves as the main point of contact for maintenance staff. Advocates good will for the City of Virginia Beach by providing excellent customer service to City of Virginia Beach residents and guests. Shows a commitment to quality service by using knowledge of maintenance ordinances, maintenance procedures, and policies. Creates a positive image of the City of Virginia Beach by maintaining a professional, empathetic, and composed demeanor when interacting with guests and residents.
  • Three years’ experience in custodial/maintenance work. One year of supervision in a custodial/maintenance environment. An equivalent combination of experience and training in the required Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies may be substituted for any of the above requirements.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Special Requirements/Event Assistance
  • All Maintenance Staff are expected to be available to assist with special events and emergencies that may be in excess of normal working hours. All maintenance staff are expected to be available to work weekends and holidays.
