Maintenance Supervisor (Pitman Night Shift)

The Maintenance and Reliability Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, scheduling, assigning and reviewing maintenance work; perform a variety of responsible duties related to the supervision of maintenance activities; as well as train, supervise and evaluate the work of employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement new equipment technologies for manufacturing and quality improvements including equipment upgrades, process technologies, tooling, and manufacturing techniques.

  • Supervise and plan the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and process within the facility.

  • Coordinate product and process design and changes.

  • Confer with management, production, and marketing/sales staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.

  • Analyze technology, resources, needs, and market and customer demands, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.

  • Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, enforcing rules, and assisting in decisions about the purchase of materials or services.

  • Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings internally and externally.

  • Participate in purchasing maintenance materials and outside technical services in accordance with established company protocol and procedures.

  • Assist in the establishment and implementation of systematic preventative maintenance program with the Maintenance and Reliability Manager.

  • Investigate equipment failures and unexpected breakdowns. Provide corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.

  • Supervise PM and PD (preventive and predictive maintenance) plans with the use of automated software packages.

  • Monitor parts requests to ensure adequate inventory and cost efficiencies are being met according to departmental budget.

  • Lead CI (continuous improvement) tasks reporting back to management with status updates.

  • Ensure equipment and processes are running optimally at all times.

  • Provide technical support to our production team and perform other tasks as needed.

  • Facilitate selection of appropriate resources (contractors, suppliers, etc.) to minimize costs and assure on time and on budget completion.

  • Ensure, enforce, and adhere to all legislative requirements.

  • Constantly enhance the motivation and team-spirit of all operation staff.

  • Minimize the risk of accidents and pollution.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts including electrical, mechanical and robotics system.

  • Able to read wiring diagrams, electrical/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, and ladder/function block logic.

  • Working knowledge of industrial PCs and PLCs (Siemens Step 7, Beckhoff Twin Cat) and electric circuitry consisting of contractors, relays, main voltage/control voltage, limit switches and proximity sensors

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with effective interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in supervisory position.

  • Experience in working with ABB robots, preferred.

  • Experience in highly automated environments, preferred.

  • Some fabrication experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and move materials up to 25 pounds independently and participate in team lifts of approximately 60 pounds as required for essential production tasks.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position or move throughout the production floor for extended periods (for the duration of the shift up to 8+ hours per shift).
  • Must be able to operate, position, adjust, or move equipment, tools, or materials necessary for production processes.
  • Capable of performing consistent, manual production tasks over long shifts.
  • Must be able to work in typical manufacturing environmental conditions, including areas requiring PPE, exposure to noise, and temperature variation.

Compensation and Benefits
