OVERVIEW OF ROLE
The Maintenance Technician will clean and perform maintenance repairs in the museum, with a focus on the administrative building, while also coordinating the mailroom and package handling. This role performs cleaning, minor repairs, and facilities support to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment for staff and visitors and receiving and distributing incoming mail and deliveries. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Cleaning the restrooms, offices, lobbies, meeting rooms, and the exterior of the administrative building.
- Cleaning public museum spaces by mopping, buffing, and dusting.
- Replenishing restroom supplies as needed.
- Performing minor equipment maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, and painting repairs.
- Inspecting roofs and gutter systems.
- Assisting and monitoring outside contracted work to ensure it is completed as specified in the proposal or contract.
- Assisting with snow removal and emergency calls.
- Responding to Track-It requests.
- Assisting with event setup and breakdown.
- Supporting emergency response for leaks, power outages, alarms, etc.
- Identifying and reporting potential safety hazards.
- Moving furniture and equipment
- Coordinating the operations of the mailroom by:
- Receiving and signing for incoming packages and deliveries;
- Sorting and distributing incoming mail to appropriate departments;
- Managing outgoing mail and coordinating pickups;
- Notifying staff of package arrival and coordinating delivery, and
- Maintaining organization and cleanliness of the mailroom and 5W loading dock.
- Providing AV support, including, but not limited to, basic setup, operation, and breakdown of standard AV equipment, and escalating complex issues to IT.
- All other duties as assigned.
