Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of company vehicles, trailers, construction equipment, tools, and shop facilities. This role supports field operations by ensuring all equipment is safe, reliable, and job‑ready while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
The ideal candidate is versatile, mechanically skilled, safety‑focused, and takes pride in workmanship, equipment care, and supporting the success of field crews.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on company trucks, trailers, and construction equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Service and maintain engines including gas, diesel, LP, and 2‑cycle mix
- Inspect, repair, and maintain brake systems including air, hydraulic, electric, and mechanical
- Maintain and repair concrete equipment and tools such as laser screeds, power trowels, vibra‑strikes, soft‑cut saws, and small hand/power tools
- Maintain and repair equipment including but not limited to:
Cat, John Deere, Bobcat, Skytrak, DynaPac, Wacker, JLG, Skyjack, and New Holland - Support a diverse fleet of Clouse Construction vehicles ranging from 1988–2025, including Ford, International, Mack, GMC, Dodge, Chevy, and Sterling
- Perform welding, torching, and general fabrication as needed
- Assist with custom repairs, modifications, brackets, and equipment improvements
- Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics to support repairs
- Keep shop, yard, and work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all Clouse Construction safety policies and OSHA requirements
- Identify unsafe equipment or conditions and take corrective action
- Support equipment inspections and documentation requirements
Requirements:
- Truck, trailer, and construction equipment repair experience required
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience with welding, torching, and fabrication
- Electrical knowledge (AC/DC required); plumbing experience a plus
- Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
- Valid driver’s license required
- Class A CDL preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Versatile with a strong work ethic
