Maintenance Technician - Electrical

This role plays a key part in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of critical industrial and environmental assets. The technician will work in a high-impact operational environment supporting electrical and control systems across complex facilities. The position involves both preventive and corrective maintenance activities, with a strong focus on uptime, compliance, and process optimization. You will contribute directly to operational continuity and sustainability outcomes, including energy efficiency and environmental performance. Working within a collaborative technical team, you will interact closely with operations, engineering, and external partners. Accountabilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and electromechanical systems, including motors, drives, control panels, and automation equipment, ensuring operational continuity and safety.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, carrying out inspections, testing, and repairs in compliance with technical and regulatory standards.
- Monitor system performance using control and SCADA tools, supporting process stability and operational efficiency.
- Interpret, update, and maintain electrical schematics and technical documentation to ensure accuracy and traceability.
- Support compliance activities, including safety procedures, risk assessments, and adherence to operational standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contractors to ensure timely execution of maintenance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Technical qualification in Electrical Engineering or related field (equivalent to NVQ Level 3 or similar).
- Solid experience in industrial electrical maintenance, including fault finding, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Knowledge of electrical systems such as control panels, motors, instrumentation, and automation systems.
- Familiarity with industrial standards, electrical safety practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
- Experience with SCADA or similar monitoring systems is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in high-responsibility environments.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to participate in on-call/standby rotations.
