Maintenance Technician

Overview

Position Summary

To perform change over, repair, and maintenance of all production and equipment. The maintenance technician interacts with production workers, production management, quality management, engineering and plant management to keep all equipment in the building in good working condition. This person is responsible for building maintenance as well as production equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment..
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production support requests..
  • Inspect equipment to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Install, adjust, and replace equipment components as needed.
  • Maintain conveyors, motors, pumps, compressors, packaging equipment, and other production machinery.
  • Complete scheduled work orders and accurately document activities in Eptura.
  • Complete work order requests and accurately document activities in Eptura.
  • Assist with facility maintenance, including lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and general building repairs.
  • Support equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and notify supervisors of parts needs.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
  • Keep maintenance areas clean, organized, and safe.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical training or certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, electrical systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous maintenance, manufacturing, or facilities experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and identify root causes of problems.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and maintenance instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills for work order and maintenance management systems
  • Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the workday.
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and around moving equipment when necessary.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and industrial environments.
