Maintenance Technician
Overview
Maintenance technician performing highly diversified duties to install, trouble shoot, repair, calibrate and maintain production and facility equipment to support achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform in-house calibration/ standardization of various equipment.
- Install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Receive deliveries of tools, equipment and supplies and transfer them to workstations or other areas as dictated by management.
- Examine machinery to ensure that it is functioning properly and to check for defects in components or parts.
- Receive work orders and determine what parts, equipment and services are needed to perform necessary maintenance and repair work.
- Communicate, follow and update preventative maintenance programs and schedules in conjunction with maintenance staff (PPM).
- Support achieving relevant KPIs and metrics.
Skills & Experience Required
Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Technician field.
- 3-5 years of experience.
- English as basic/intermediate working capability for reading manuals and communication purposes
Essential:
- Electro-mechanical skills: working in a hands-on industrial environment maintaining plant machinery.
- The capacity to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and wiring diagrams
- Teamworking skills to work cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels.
- Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and preventative repairs on all electrical systems, equipment, and machinery.
- Perform regular tests to new and existing electrical systems, equipment, and machinery, both to spot potential problems and to ensure that systems are operating at their highest possible levels of functionality.
- Effectively manage maintenance work programs.
- Coordinate and provide input to vendor maintenance plans and vendor work pack process.
- Provide input to the Asset Information Management System (AIMS) and MAX for maintenance planning and scheduling as required
Desirable:
- Working with pneumatic and hydraulic motorized lifting systems, pipe wash units, maintaining lathe’s and welding units in a busy environment.
- Computer savvy and able to handle general office software

- Carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Assurance procedures and department/area work instructions.
- Contribute to general improvements in the quality and key activities of the department/area.

- Training will be provided where required.
