The Maintenance Technician, Process/Manufacturing Engineering (Evening Shift) for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for minimizing downtime on equipment, through fast response, effective root cause analysis and good problem-solving techniques, provide engineering support to Production to ensure that hourly targets are met by completing maintenance work and performing Equipment problem resolution.

This position is part of the Production Operations Department located in Lismeehan, O’Callaghan’s Mills, Co. Clare and will be based on site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Thursday 16:00pm to 12.00am

Friday 15:00pm to 10:00pm

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work as part of a cross-functional team in a production support role and make a difference to productivity by reducing the impact of downtime on production lines through identification and implementation of permanent fixes to repeat downtime issues.

  • Be data driven, in the investigation of recurring equipment issues and be Proficient in root causing electrical issues from 24v DC up to 3 Phase supply.

  • Liaise with Production Supervisor and Production Coordinators/ Senior Engineer to understand equipment down priorities.

  • Apply DBS Tolls (Lean techniques) towards the continuous improvement of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.

  • Generation of shift handovers and keeping of accurate records and handle issues related to Environmental, Health and Safety. Ensure compliance to all standards.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Technical degree or diploma and 5 - 7 years maintenance experience in a highly automated industrial environment.

  • Previous experience in some of the following: pneumatics; instrumentation; hydraulics; Vision systems.

  • Quality assurance, cGMP / FDA QSR / ISO regulations

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Working on own initiative with minimum supervision.

  • A good knowledge of electronics and software-controlled systems.

  • Strong structured / logical problem solving skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication / presentation skills.

  • Identifying and leading continuous improvement projects.

  • PLC programming & proficient in electrical control systems.

  • Mechanical and Pneumatic production line systems.
