Manager - Business Analytics, Consumer Growth

Job Summary

JioStar is building one of India's most ambitious consumer growth engines at the intersection of media, entertainment, sports, digital platforms, commerce, data and consumer engagement. This person will help define the metrics, cohorts, dashboards, experiments, and business insights that will eventually shape the consumer growth construct for JioStar.

The role will coordinate with the central analytics teams (digital & linear) to understand the JioStar consumer, churn out insights, and design platform experiments. This is not just a metrics reporting role; it is an early business-building role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Analytics function for the consumer growth business pod and coordinate with the central analytics team and linear TV team for data and insights generation.
  • Ensure strong alignment with Central Analytics on data definitions, dashboards, tracking and governance.
  • Build the core measurement framework: frequency, retention, engagement, churn, resurrection, tier progression, rewards, and user value.
  • Analyze user behavior across cohorts, content genres, sports, entertainment, devices, regions and frequency bands.
  • Identify patterns in audience behavior, content performance, and market trends to power construct decisions.
  • Partner with Product, Growth, Data Science, and Business teams to design experiments and measure impact.
  • Develop business intuition, formulate hypotheses, conduct A/B testing, and leverage data to scale product and business initiatives.
  • Build reports and dashboards for business reviews that help leadership track what is working and where intervention is needed.
  • Build and maintain structured data warehouses and dashboards across tools such as Databricks and Mixpanel.

Skills & Attributes for Success

  • ~4-5 years of experience in data analytics, business analytics, or growth/strategy roles.
  • Strong academic background; IIT / top engineering institutes preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Experience in consumer internet, OTT, media, gaming, e-commerce, fintech, loyalty or subscription businesses is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience and proficiency in SQL, Databricks, Mixpanel, Redash, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of consumer behavior.
  • Strong understanding of cohorts, funnels, retention, segmentation, A/B testing, and experimentation.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, data pipelines, and data modeling techniques.
  • Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to develop processes for efficient delivery of data, information, and analyses to the business.
  • A strong passion for media, content analytics, and data storytelling
  • Ability to work as a high-impact individual contributor with strong leadership visibility.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into structured analytical frameworks.
