Manager, Business Development & Community Engagement - Physician Relations - Days - Full-Time
The Manager of Business Development and Community Engagement is responsible for expanding the hospital’s network and visibility by building strategic partnerships and strengthening relationships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and key local stakeholders. This role supports service line growth through targeted outreach, community engagement, and promotion of hospital services, while collaborating closely with leadership, marketing, physicians, and operational teams to identify and execute growth opportunities. The position also coordinates community events, sponsorships, and outreach initiatives, monitors referral and outreach performance, ensures regulatory compliance, and provides regular reporting to support long-term organizational growth and community presence.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- Must have at least 5 years of experience in healthcare network development, physician relations, medical sales or a related field
- Must have a strong background in the healthcare industry with a proven track record of driving business growth and forming strategic
partnerships. - This role requires a deep understanding of the healthcare market, including trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Must possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, be highly motivated, and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Experience in physician recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding is highly preferred.
- Must have the ability to travel locally up to 50% of the time.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic plans for business development, service line growth, community partnerships, and network development.
- Increase awareness, referrals, and appropriate utilization of assigned hospital services by building relationships with the local healthcare
community, community organizations, employers, civic leaders, and other external stakeholders. - Identify and evaluate opportunities for expanding the hospital’s network, including potential partnerships with physicians, clinics,
community organizations, employers, schools, nonprofits, and other healthcare or community-based partners. - Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including physicians, practice leaders, service line leaders, community
partners, business organizations, and civic groups. - Develop and implement strategies to increase referrals to the hospital from existing and new partners.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned network and community partners, addressing concerns, identifying opportunities, and
ensuring satisfaction with the relationship. - Address and resolve issues or barriers related to referrals, access, communication, service line promotion, community engagement, or
partner relationships. - Analyze market trends, patient needs, referral patterns, community needs, and the competitive landscape to identify growth
opportunities for assigned service lines. - Project future network, service line, and community outreach needs based on population growth, healthcare trends, market dynamics,
community needs, and hospital capacity. - Work with senior management to align business development, community partnership, and service line growth goals with the overall
strategic objectives of the hospital. - Support marketing, public relations, advertising, and outreach efforts to promote the hospital’s services to potential network partners,
community partners, and target audiences. - Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to support advertising campaigns, community messaging, public relations
opportunities, sponsorship visibility, and service line promotion. - Organize and support events such as physician networking opportunities, employer outreach events, sponsorship events, health fairs,
civic presentations, service line events, and other activities that foster relationships within the healthcare and broader community. - Represent or coordinate representation for the hospital at local and regional events, conferences, community meetings, civic events,
sponsorship activities, and other public-facing opportunities to increase visibility and strengthen community relationships. - Support planning and coordination of community-based programs that promote women’s health, access to care, patient education,
prevention, wellness, and awareness of hospital services. - Partner with internal departments to ensure community events and external outreach activities are aligned with operational readiness,
service line goals, brand standards, and patient experience expectations. - Track and analyze referral patterns, outreach activity, community engagement outcomes, event participation, partner activity, and other
key performance indicators. - Prepare regular reports for hospital leadership on business development activity, service line growth, community partnership
performance, outreach outcomes, and market opportunities. - Use data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for network expansion, community engagement, service line
promotion, or partnership refinement. - Ensure that all business development, outreach, advertising-related, and community partnership activities comply with regulatory
requirements and hospital policies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare regulations, industry standards, and appropriate
marketing and referral guidelines. - Develop and manage budgets for assigned business development, outreach, sponsorship, and community partnership activities. Monitor cost-effectiveness and return on investment for assigned initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with the Manager, Business Development & Physician Recruitment to coordinate outreach priorities, avoid duplication of effort, share market intelligence, and present a unified business development strategy for the hospital.
- Maintain strong internal communication with service line leaders and hospital leadership to ensure business development activities are coordinated, strategic, and aligned with organizational priorities.

Full-Time; Monday - Friday
Salary based on experience.
