Role objective

Lead marketplace growth by owning both strategic planning and performance media delivery across key commerce platforms. This role is expected to operate as the channel lead for marketplace media, translating sales ambition into commercial plans, media strategy, optimization roadmap, and cross-functional actions that improve visibility, traffic quality, and GMV.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the full marketplace media planning cycle, including annual direction, quarterly priorities, monthly trading plan, and campaign-level execution.
  • Develop media and visibility plans across sponsored solutions, search, display, in-platform traffic drivers, and commercial packages based on business priorities.
  • Turn category objectives, hero SKU priorities, and promotional events into actionable media plans with clear budget split, target outcome, and expected ROI.
  • Lead daily and weekly optimization across bid strategy, keyword logic, audience targeting, placement mix, budget pacing, and creative rotation.
  • Drive performance diagnosis and decision-making by identifying what impacts conversion, share of search, traffic efficiency, and revenue contribution.
  • Work closely with platform partners, internal commercial teams, content owners, and operations teams to ensure media plans are executable and conversion-ready.
  • Build performance reviews with clear narrative on business impact, key issues, optimization actions, and next-step recommendations.
  • Set a high standard of governance by defining channel playbooks, optimization SOPs, learning agenda, and measurement discipline.

  • Marketplace GMV / revenue driven by media
  • ROAS, media efficiency, and budget productivity
  • Traffic quality, conversion rate, and basket value uplift
  • Share of visibility during key campaigns and tentpole moments
  • Quality and speed of optimization decisions

Qualification & experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, E-commerce, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in ecommerce, performance marketing, retail media, or marketplace trading, with at least 3 years in a planning and optimization ownership role.
  • Strong hands-on experience managing marketplace media on major commerce platforms and balancing both commercial planning and campaign execution.
  • Proven track record in driving revenue growth, campaign efficiency, and trading performance through data-led optimization.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with sales, content, operations, and platform partners in a fast-moving ecommerce environment.
  • Commercially sharp, outcome-led, and comfortable moving between strategic planning and in-market optimization.
  • Hands-on with marketplace ad consoles, seller or vendor center environments, Excel / Google Sheets, and performance dashboards.
  • Strong capability in marketplace planning, campaign optimization, performance analysis, stakeholder management, and performance storytelling.

  • Strong experience in marketplace media, ecommerce performance marketing, or digital trading.
  • Hands-on capability in both strategic planning and daily campaign optimization.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to convert data into actions.
  • Good stakeholder management with internal teams and external platform partners.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven ecommerce environment.
