Manager - Credit Risk Initiatives

You will join a dynamic credit risk and wholesale banking environment where you will play a key role in shaping risk governance, reporting, and strategic credit initiatives across a large and complex lending portfolio. In this role, you will provide insights and reporting that directly support leadership decision-making, including monthly and quarterly risk deliverables and ad-hoc strategic projects. You will act as a key advisor in strengthening credit risk frameworks, improving governance standards, and enhancing transparency across credit portfolios. The position requires strong analytical capability, stakeholder management, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-priority environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to interpret data, assess risk trends, and support regulatory and internal compliance requirements. This is a high-visibility role with significant influence on credit risk strategy, reporting accuracy, and business decision support. It is well suited for a professional who thrives at the intersection of data, risk governance, and strategic advisory work.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide oversight, monitoring, and reporting of credit risk across assigned portfolios, ensuring accuracy and consistency of insights delivered to leadership.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance credit risk governance frameworks, including policies, standards, methodologies, and control processes.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reporting deliverables to enable informed strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze credit data to identify emerging risk trends across sectors, geographies, and business lines.
  • Query and extract data from internal lending systems to support reporting and analytical needs.
  • Support the interpretation and implementation of regulatory requirements and changes impacting credit risk governance.
  • Identify issues, recommend corrective actions, and support escalation processes where required.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve consistency, transparency, and effectiveness of credit risk measurement and reporting.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of strategic risk initiatives and enhancements to existing frameworks.
  • Support governance activities, including regulatory reporting, attestations, and training initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on risk policies and standards.
  • Requirements:

    • 5–7 years of experience in credit risk, risk management, banking, or financial services roles.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred.
    • Strong understanding of corporate and commercial lending processes and credit risk frameworks.
    • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI.
    • Experience with data querying tools (SQL, AQT, or similar).
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven decision-making approach.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and present complex information clearly.
    • Experience working with credit policies, regulatory requirements, and governance frameworks.
    • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
    • Nice to have: experience in wholesale or commercial banking environments and exposure to enterprise risk reporting systems.
