Manager Food Safety Quality & Regulatory Affairs (Foreign Material and Operational)

Reporting to the Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs, you will oversee daily operations related to safety and regulatory compliance initiatives across the Conagra enterprise with a focus on foreign material prevention. You will partner with plant quality managers and cross-functional teams to identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards across manufacturing facilities, co-manufacturers, suppliers, and research and development. You will support continuous improvement by strengthening processes, enhancing audit readiness, and advancing foreign material and physical hazard controls.

A Taste of Your Responsibilities

  • Implement senior leadership’s strategic priorities related to foreign material prevention and risk reduction

  • Lead foreign material system assessments and develop mitigation strategies across the enterprise

  • Partner with plant quality teams to identify opportunities and support risk assessments related to foreign material controls

  • Assist Food, Safety, Quality & Regulatory Affairs leadership with enterprise initiatives to reduce food safety risk

  • Develop and deliver food safety training to assigned facilities and promote a strong food safety culture

  • Mentor and coach quality teams to strengthen technical capability and bench strength

  • Ensure compliance with Global Food Safety Initiative schemes such as Safe Quality Food and British Retail Consortium, as well as Food and Drug Administration, United States Department of Agriculture, and internal standards

  • Support Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points plan development and maintenance

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve supplier quality assurance processes related to foreign material controls

  • Provide technical support, data analysis, and insights to support food safety decisions

  • Monitor audit readiness, identify gaps, and lead corrective actions related to foreign material and physical hazard controls

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance food safety, compliance, and operational effectiveness

    Ingredients Required for Your Success

    • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biological Science, Chemical Science, or related field

    • 7 or more years of food industry experience in quality assurance, operations, or related function

    • Experience auditing complex manufacturing sites

    • Knowledge of food safety and quality systems including Good Manufacturing Practices, Global Food Safety Initiative standards such as Safe Quality Food and British Retail Consortium, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points, and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures

    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements including Food and Drug Administration and United States Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service

    • Experience with food manufacturing processes and foreign material detection technologies

    • Continuous improvement mindset with strong problem-solving skills

    • Experience with technical reporting and presenting findings to diverse audiences

    • Strong data analysis, troubleshooting, and investigative skills

    • Willingness to travel 25 to 50 percent to support plant operations

Noise levels can be high, and temperatures may vary.

    Compensation

    Pay Range:$109,000-$159,000

    The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
