About the Role

Responsible for conducting and delivering high value financial analysis as well as developing AIA's financial plans and budgets to facilitate management decision making

Job Description:

Business Planning

  • Support the FP&A team with development of investment management business plans, financial models and detailed financial analysis.

  • Assist in the preparation of strategic presentations for senior leadership and board meetings.

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Support the FP&A team with the annual budgeting cycle. Working closely with department heads and BUs to ensure budget inputs are submitted on time in the Anaplan platform.

  • Play an active role in the firm's annual budget and forecasting processes by working with the organization's leadership to incorporate initiatives

  • Manage the Anaplan platform for budget, management reporting. Assist department heads/users with Anaplan, queries from department heads on the department budget,

  • Monitor and update forecasts regularly, reflecting changes in business conditions and strategic priorities.

Management Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare monthly management reports on financial performance, providing detailed explanations for material variances between actuals and forecasts/budgets to facilitate informed decision-making.

  • Prepare and submit budget templates, monthly/quarterly Performance Review decks for Group reporting requirements.

  • Develop dashboards and visualisations to enable financial data to be presented in a clear and concise manner.

  • Perform ad hoc analysis where required to assist in management decision making.

  • Monitor actual run rate vs budget for IT costs, recoveries

  • Develop financial analysis, which is value-added to decision making and assessing business performance

  • Partner with the businesses in developing financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives

  • Analyse current and past trends in the areas of revenue, expenses and other key performance indicators to improve design and accuracy of financial forecasts

Month-End Close:

  • Manage month-end closing activities in Anaplan, ensure all month-end financial data is accurate, complete, properly classified and mapped.

  • Collaborate with accounting teams to resolve any discrepancies.

  • Prepare journal entries for posting into Anaplan.

  • Prepare monthly allocation and recharge of IT costs across AIA BUs

  • Maintain cost allocation drivers and methodology of IT spends.

MIS Controls:

  • Maintain chart of accounts, cost centre codes, mapping rules in Anaplan.

  • Assist departments with creation/deletion of cost centre and WBS (project codes) in SAP.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in Management Reporting, FP&A. Experience and knowledge of Investment Management Finance/ IT Finance/Technology cost management is a plus.

  • Experience in Investment/Asset Management, Financial Institution, Big 4, or other commercial organization FP&A is highly desirable.

  • CPA or equivalent.

  • Strong MS Excel (able to use pivot tables, lookup formulas, build models), Powerpoint, Word Skills a must. Experience in Microsoft BI/building dashboards/financial modelling templates is desirable.

  • Strong quantitative and problem solving skills Ability to communicate effectively, including presenting ideas both in written presentations and to small groups

  • Ability to interact with senior management, peers and professional staff;

  • Communicating with impact to effectively manage upward to influence decisions. Quick learner, Detail oriented; Demonstrable thoroughness and strong ownership of work.

  • Good team player, with demonstrable experience of building strong and effective working relationships with colleagues and business partners.

  • Able to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment; High sense of urgency

  • Strong written and verbal English skills
