About the role

As a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Leader, you will play a critical role in driving a safe, compliant and high-performing operation across your region of accountability. You will lead the delivery of HSE systems, processes and programs that effectively manage risk, enhance capability and support continuous improvement.
Reporting into senior leadership, you will influence across the business and lead a team to embed a strong safety culture aligned to Rio Tinto’s values and standards.
What you’ll bring
- Demonstrated experience leading HSE functions in complex operational or industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and regulatory requirements
- Proven ability to implement HSE systems, policies and procedures that drive compliance and performance
- Experience analysing incidents, identifying trends and implementing improvements to prevent recurrence
- Strong leadership capability, with experience developing and coaching teams
- Ability to influence, engage and build trusted relationships with stakeholders across all levels
- A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on risk management and operational excellence
