The Opportunity

How you will make an impact
As a Control and Protection Manager, you will be part of the HVDC unit, leading a team of Commissioning Engineers specialized in MACH, IEDs, SCADA, and HMI systems. You will act as a key interface with customers while ensuring the effective execution of commissioning activities across multiple HVDC projects. The role combines team leadership, technical oversight, and responsibility for delivery across global projects.
The quality and innovation of the engineering in our products, systems, and service offerings keep our customers ahead. Developing solutions for customers worldwide and working on market-leading technologies forms a core part of the HVDC business.
Your Responsibilities
Manage and lead a team of Commissioning Engineers
Recruit, train, and develop your team
Maintain a high level of quality in team deliverables and execution in line with project plans
Take responsibility for short- and long-term planning, including resourcing and manning of Control and Protection scope across global HVDC projects
Manage interfaces between your department, internal stakeholders, and customers
Drive scope and division of work discussions with stakeholders and customers
Own and develop department processes, including identifying and implementing improvements
Contribute to management strategy and continuous improvement initiatives alongside the wider management team
Ensure customer commitments are met in accordance with contractual requirements
Support tender activities related to commissioning scope

Your Background
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (Master’s preferred)
MBA or Project Management certification is an advantage
Several years of experience within Control & Protection or SCADA across design, testing, or commissioning phases
Experience in HVDC technology or AC substation projects
Experience in commissioning within complex industrial or power system environments
Experience with MACH technology is advantageous
Knowledge of IEC 61850 and IED relay programming is beneficial
Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and develop others
Ability to work within relevant standards and regulations in a structured and pragmatic way
Ability to manage multiple parallel activities
