Manager Manufacturing Engineering
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (List the major or most important job duties. What contribution does this job make towards the business?)
- Will drive improvements in all related manufacturing processes, including those related to products, equipment, human interface and product quality.
- Is responsible for all associated metrics management, financial management, staffing, leadership,
strategic development and execution, process development, product support and new process
Development/qualification.
- Requires involvement with the production and materials functions, as well as customer service and support processes.
- Through partnerships with the production personnel, the Manufacturing Engineering Manager will ensure the required technical support for all critical process and product issue resolution.
- Provide technical direction to the engineer is available for all product builds and process operations.
- Must be a leader, strategic thinker and problem solver.
- Must combine a detailed technical knowledge with business functions, and operations management.
- Should be well organized, disciplined and self motivated, with the capability to balance multiple priorities related to operations and organization.
- Must be able to communicate with internal company personnel, as well as customers, with equal effectiveness and professionalism.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.
- Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
- Confer with management, production to discuss project specifications or procedures.
- Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
- Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department.
- Participate actively in VOS activities
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: (Title (s) of associates that you directly supervise)
- Manufacturing Engineers
INTERACTIONS: (Describe the relationships and degree of contact with internal and external individuals or groups.)
- Contact with productions managers and supervisor.
- Day to day interaction between all functional groups, products and productions managers.
- Occasional contact with all internal Liebert groups, purchasing, receiving, etc.
- Frequent communication with other Liebert Engineering groups and outsource Engineering groups.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Knowledge in UPS products.
- Capable of utilizing a personal computer and various applications programs, i.e. spreadsheets, CAD, word processing, communications, etc.
- Team player and able to work on multiple projects.
- Communication skills
- Presentation skills
